Classification of gate valves

Gate valves can be classified according to different classification methods. The following are several common gate valve classification methods:

Classification according to structural form:

Flat gate valve: The gate is parallel to the axis of the flow channel and is often used in smaller diameter pipes;

Inclined plate gate valve: The gate is inclined, usually at a 45-degree angle or in the form of an inclined plate. It is often used for larger diameter pipes and has better cutting performance;

Wedge gate valve: The gate is wedge-shaped and can be divided into single wedge and double wedge. It is commonly used in applications under high pressure and high temperature conditions.

Classification according to driving mode:

Manual gate valve: The gate plate is raised and lowered by manually operating the valve handwheel, handle and other devices;

Electric gate valve: driven by an electric motor to realize the lifting and lowering of the gate;

Pneumatic gate valve: The gate plate is raised and lowered through pneumatic devices (such as pneumatic actuators);

Hydraulic gate valve: The gate plate is raised and lowered through a hydraulic device (such as a hydraulic actuator).

Classification according to sealing form:

Metal seal gate valve: The gate plate and valve seat are usually made of metal materials, such as stainless steel, which have good high temperature resistance and wear resistance;

Elastic sealing gate valve: The gate plate and valve seat are usually made of rubber, polytetrafluoroethylene and other elastic materials, which have good sealing performance and are suitable for some corrosive media.

Classification according to usage occasions:

Ordinary gate valve: generally used in general industrial pipeline systems, suitable for the control of conventional media;

High-pressure gate valve: suitable for high-pressure pipeline systems and has good pressure resistance;

High temperature gate valve: suitable for the control of high temperature media, with good high temperature resistance.

Elastic sealing gate valve: The gate plate and valve seat are usually made of rubber, polytetrafluoroethylene and other elastic materials, which have good sealing performance and are suitable for some corrosive media.

Classification according to usage occasions:

Ordinary gate valve: generally used in general industrial pipeline systems, suitable for the control of conventional media;

High-pressure gate valve: suitable for high-pressure pipeline systems and has good pressure resistance;

High temperature gate valve: suitable for the control of high temperature media, with good high temperature resistance.
