1.Introduction of Centric Butterfly Valve

2.Disc Closure Design OF Centric Butterfly Valve

Butterfly valves can be concentric or eccentric depending on the location of the stem in relation to the disc and the seat surface angle on which the disc closes.

The structural feature of the Centric Butterfly Valve is that the shaft center of the valve stem, the center of the butterfly plate and the center of the body are in the same position. The structure is simple and the manufacturing is convenient. Common rubber-lined butterfly valves belong to this category. The disadvantage of Centric Butterfly Valve is that the butterfly plate and the valve seat are always in a state of squeezing and scratching, with a large resistance distance and rapid wear. In order to overcome squeezing, scratching, and to ensure sealing performance, the valve seat is basically made of rubber or PTFE and other elastic materials, but it is also subject to temperature restrictions in use. This is why traditionally people think that butterfly valves are not resistant to high temperatures reason.

The most basic type of butterfly valve design is a Centric Butterfly Valve or concentric butterfly valve. This means that the stem passes through the centerline of the disc which is in the center of the pipe bore and the seat is the inside diameter periphery of the valve body. This zero-offset valve design is also called resilient-seated because it relies on the flexibility of the seat rubber to efficiently seal the flow when closed. In this type of valve, the disc first comes into contact with the seat at around 85° during a 90° rotation. Centric Butterfly Valve is commonly used for low pressure ranges.
